Habits to keep your skin looking great even in hot weather

Summer is not our skin’s favorite season. High temperatures, extremely dry or humid air, sunlight, salt water, sand… These and other factors make the condition of our skin deteriorate. Find out what skin care habits are worth implementing to look fresh.

Remember to exfoliate dead skin regularly

To make your skin look really fresh, you need to regularly get rid of the lingering layer of dead skin. Otherwise, even after applying an intensely moisturizing lotion, the skin will look gray and tired.

To get rid of dead skin, you can use a ready-made scrub bought at the drugstore or prepare your own, such as from ground coffee beans and a few drops of your favorite oil.

Proper moisturization, not only from the outside

After scrubbing, it is a good idea to apply an intensive moisturizing lotion to the body. The cream doesn’t have to be greasy, but it’s best to apply it to the skin immediately after finishing a bath, on a still damp body.

Our body also needs hydration from the inside to function properly and give our skin a healthy appearance. That’s why it’s so important to drink enough water every day – a minimum of 2 liters in the summer.

Sun protection

The sun is probably liked by everyone, but it should not be exaggerated. The harmful UV radiation it emits can cause burns, skin diseases and accelerate the aging process. So proper protection is key. Before going out in the sun, don’t forget to wear a hat or cap, and cover the rest of your body with light clothing.

For UV protection to be effective, use sunscreens. SPF protection should be a minimum of 30. If you spend a long time in the intense sun, reapply the cream every 2 hours and after every bath.

Tan with caution

Although a tan looks beautiful on the skin, it has adverse effects on the skin. The darkening of the color means that the natural protective barrier of our epidermis has been damaged, which can result in dryness, wrinkles and even skin diseases.

If, after all, you can’t imagine summer without bronzed skin, opt for a self-tanner or bronzer. There are many forms of self-tanning cosmetics on the market today, so you’re sure to find one that appeals to you.

Give your skin a moment of regeneration and relief

If your skin has been bathed by the rays of the summer sun, spent a long time in an air-conditioned room or bathed in salt water, take care of a moment of solace and regeneration. These are not conditions that benefit its condition.

Cosmetics based on aloe vera, honey, glycerin, allantoin and panthenol are ideal. Also use all kinds of vegetable oils, hydrolats and cosmetics with vitamins C and E. Make yourself a moisturizing mask, apply a regenerating lotion or a soothing compress to your body. Ingredients in cosmetics will help soothe redness, soothe irritation and, above all, deeply moisturize dry skin.

In makeup, opt for minimalism

If you want to apply makeup in the summer, bet on gentle cosmetics. Less is more: replace heavy foundation with a light BB cream, powder your face with natural rice or bamboo powder, and put your favorite lip gloss on your lips. You can spray the whole thing with a fixative spray to make your makeup hold up better in high temperatures.
